Job Description

Senior Systems Administrator | National Stock Yards, IL, United States | Hybrid | $92,300.00 - $166,850.00 This employer is a respected leader in technology-enabled services and mission software solutions, supporting defense and intelligence customers. The Role • Lead system administration for both Linux and Windows-based systems within secure, mission-critical environments. • Architect, manage, and maintain complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM). • Ensure OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching comply with relevant security standards and policies. • Monitor and tune system performance, perform root cause analysis, and efficiently resolve complex issues. • Oversee backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and continuity of operations. • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code using tools like Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash. What You'll Need • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field with 8-12 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. • Active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph. • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP). • Demonstrated experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server administration. • Proficiency in virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and automation/scripting (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python). • Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, ACAS scans, and RMF processes.
