Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Appian Tech Lead to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications using the Appian BPM platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of Appian applications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to Appian developers.
• Develop and configure SAIL interfaces, Process Models, Records, Reports, Expression Rules, and Integration Objects.
• Design and implement scalable BPM and workflow solutions.
• Integrate Appian applications with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and Web Services.
• Work with SQL and relational databases for data modeling and application integration.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure Appian development best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and performance issues.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams.
• Support CI/CD, deployment, testing, and release activities.
• Mentor junior developers and lead technical discussions.
• Follow Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall IT experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Appian BPM development.
• Experience as an Appian Tech Lead, Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Appian Developer.
• Strong expertise in SAIL, Process Models, Records, Interfaces, Expression Rules, Reports, and CDTs.
• Experience with Appian Integrations, Connected Systems, REST APIs, SOAP/Web Services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with BPM, workflow automation, and Appian architecture.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

• Appian Certified Lead Developer or Senior Developer.
• Java/J2EE experience.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• AWS/Azure exposure.
• Experience with Appian RPA, AI, IDP, or Process HQ.
• Local candidates or candidates willing to work hybrid in Chicago, IL.
