Senior IT Business Analyst / AI Forward

A global consulting organization is hiring a Senior IT Business Analyst for a contract role in Richmond, VA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite) supporting a large-scale transportation modernization initiative. This role focuses on transforming legacy systems and improving digital experiences using modern software practices and AI-assisted tools within an Agile environment.

This is a highly visible, client-facing position where you will work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, write user stories, and help shape the roadmap for a major system overhaul. The team is looking for someone who is comfortable leading discussions, building relationships, and bringing structure to complex projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Contract Duration: 24 Months
Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or software environments
• Strong experience with requirements gathering and user story creation
• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum and backlog management
• Proven experience in client-facing roles and stakeholder engagement
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience using AI tools to improve workflows (transcription, documentation, automation)
• Background in government, transportation, or large enterprise systems
• Experience supporting software modernization or transformation initiatives
• Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
