Mechanical/Hardware Engineer

Introduction

The Mechanical Engineer must be a self-motivated individual to work in a fast-paced high energy environment with short product development cycles. This person will be responsible for the mechanical design of rack mounted networking products from concept to RTM. The candidate must be very hands-on and not only have experience of designing products but also holding design reviews, creating BOM, prototype validation, ECO release and putting products through regulatory compliance tests. Must be able to initiate and consult on original and creative technical efforts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate & integrate new technologies in cooling, interconnect & other relevant areas to develop future solution set for networking products.
• Provide project scoping and resource planning to support new product development and relevant technologies for the project. Track deliverables in support of programs and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Responsible for leading technical decisions required on a project.
• Takes a leadership role in technical content of the system specification/unit function specification.
• Establishes well-defined technical direction and aligns the direction with that of Client''''''''s networking.
• Reviews plan and writes specifications for assigned area.
• Identifies issues and technical interdependencies and suggests possible changes.

Requirements

Education: BSME or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience in electro-mechanical design with a concentration in either networking or storage or server products.
