Position: Senior ServiceNow Developer – AI / Now Assist
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer with hands-on experience implementing AI capabilities within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have strong ServiceNow development experience along with practical experience using Now Assist, AI Agent Studio, ServiceNow AI Agents, and Generative AI capabilities.
This role will focus on developing, configuring, integrating, and enhancing AI-powered workflows across the ServiceNow platform while maintaining strong development standards, security, governance, and platform performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, configure, and support solutions across the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, GlideRecord, Flow Designer, and Service Catalog.
  • Implement and configure Now Assist capabilities for use cases such as incident summarization, case assistance, content generation, knowledge/search enhancements, and workflow automation.
  • Configure GenAI guardrails, prompts, and AI-related controls within ServiceNow.
  • Build and configure AI Agents using AI Agent Studio, including agent goals, natural-language triggers, memory rules, workflows, and autonomous task execution.
  • Develop agentic workflows that allow ServiceNow AI capabilities to interact with enterprise workflows and data.
  • Configure AI governance and controls, including approval workflows, human hand-off, security policies, compliance requirements, and agent monitoring.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external Generative AI/LLM platforms such as OpenAI GPT and/or Anthropic Claude where required.
  • Work with Generative AI Controller and related ServiceNow AI capabilities to enable AI-powered enterprise workflows.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps, or other enterprise workflows.
  • Develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, custom spokes, MID Server, and Flow Designer.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize ServiceNow applications, workflows, integrations, scripts, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, deployments, upgrades, and platform health assessments.
  • Follow ServiceNow development best practices and maintain appropriate security, ACL, role, and data-access controls.
  • Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, administrators, and other developers to translate requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance where required.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow application development and configuration.
  • Strong hands-on JavaScript experience within ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, GlideRecord, Flow Designer, and Service Catalog.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Now Assist / ServiceNow Generative AI capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with AI Agent Studio and/or ServiceNow AI Agents.
  • Experience building AI-powered or agentic workflows within ServiceNow.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and Integration Hub.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, security, roles, ACLs, and data access.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
