About the Role

Drive system architecture, build reusable core libraries, and coach engineering teams. This role requires solving complex technical problems, eliminating technical debt, and designing scalable, secure systems that enable cross-functional delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering & Architecture:
• Write, test, and document high-quality code, scripts, and technical processes according to organizational standards.
• Build components and shared libraries with broad organizational impact.
• Design integrated systems to enable teams to deliver with speed, scale, and reliability.
• Research emerging technologies, lead prototype development with minimal guidance, and integrate them into architectural solutions.
• System Quality & Reliability:
• Conduct root cause analysis on systemic failures, defining and executing action items.
• Oversee technical debt management and actively eliminate debt during ongoing implementations.
• Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges, guiding teams through mitigation strategies.
• Partner with security teams early in the development lifecycle to enforce security-conscious practices.
• Evaluate technical risks and direct teams toward practical prevention strategies.
• Team Leadership & Delivery Optimization:
• Coach junior engineers on technical craftsmanship and quality standards.
• Remove duplicate efforts across teams by driving component and process reuse.
• Evaluate delivery practices, propose operational improvements to leadership, and drive implementation.
• Measure team performance metrics and identify growth areas for individual engineers.

Key Technical Requirements

• Total Experience: 7 to 9 years in professional software development.
• Core Stack:
• Java: 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Kafka: 3+ years of experience.
• MongoDB: 3+ years of experience.
• Multi-Cloud: 3+ years of hands-on experience or working knowledge across Azure and IBM Cloud environments.

Technical Competencies & Methodologies

• Design Techniques: Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), Test-Driven Development (TDD), Java Design Patterns, Enterprise Integration Design Patterns, and Disaster Recovery Design and Development.
• Delivery Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field, combined with 5 to 7 years of direct software engineering experience.
