Telecom Datacom Sales Manager - responsible for driving sales growth across distributor and contractor channels and building strong relationships with key customers. The role develops and executes sales strategies, manages the sales pipeline, and collaborates with cross functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
What You'll Do- Develop strategies to grow the Telecom Datacom Channel through distributors and direct sales to major contractors.
- Maintain close contact with the customer base to secure long term relationships with major customers.
- Set short and mid term plans to achieve sales and margin targets, including product mix, sales area, and customer service standards.
- Implement pricing policies and strategies approved by the Pricing Manager.
- Analyse market trends, identify growth opportunities, and devise winning strategies for tenders and projects.
- Manage opportunity pipeline from analysis and planning through to execution and project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, production, logistics, and product development to ensure timely and efficient supply of products.
- Assist other Business Units in achieving their Datacom cable sales targets.
- Ensure compliance with trade practice regulations and industry compliance requirements.
- Tertiary qualification in business, economics, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of managerial experience in business development.
- Strong understanding of the telecom sector and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Results driven focus with strong business acumen and customer satisfaction orientation.
- Commitment to self development and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis is advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel interstate and internationally as required.
