Job Description - Business Development Executive (Influencer Marketing)

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly proactive and self-driven Business Development Executive to build and drive outbound business development for our Influencer Marketing division.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of identifying prospective brands, researching decision-makers, executing targeted outreach campaigns, generating qualified meetings, and building a healthy sales pipeline. This role requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, create structured prospecting processes, and consistently open new business opportunities through LinkedIn, email, and other outbound channels.

The primary objective of this role is to generate qualified sales opportunities for the Brand Solutions leadership team by building a predictable and scalable outbound lead generation engine.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Business Development

  • Own outbound lead generation for the Influencer Marketing business.
  • Identify and research prospective brands across relevant industries.
  • Build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through LinkedIn Sales Navigator, online research, industry databases, referrals, and other lead generation tools.
  • Identify key decision-makers across Marketing, Brand, Digital, and Media teams.

Prospecting & Outreach

  • Develop and execute multi-touch outreach campaigns using email, LinkedIn, phone calls, and other appropriate channels.
  • Write personalized cold emails and LinkedIn outreach messages that generate responses and meetings.
  • Continuously optimize outreach messaging, targeting, and follow-up sequences to improve conversion rates.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects until opportunities are qualified or closed.

Lead Qualification

  • Understand each prospect's marketing objectives, influencer marketing requirements, budget, timelines, and decision-making process.
  • Qualify leads before scheduling meetings with the Brand Solutions or Sales leadership.
  • Ensure only high-quality opportunities are passed to the sales team.

Sales Meetings & Handover

  • Schedule discovery calls, virtual meetings, and client presentations.
  • Prepare client research, meeting briefs, and opportunity summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Brand Solutions teams to understand service offerings and campaign feasibility before client discussions.
  • Ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities to the Brand Solutions Head or Sales Head.

Process & Pipeline Management

  • Build and continuously improve outbound prospecting workflows and sales processes.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including lead status, follow-ups, meeting notes, and opportunity stages.
  • Generate weekly reports on outreach activity, meetings booked, pipeline health, and conversion metrics.
  • Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and lead conversion.

Market Intelligence

  • Stay updated on influencer marketing trends, creator economy developments, social media platforms, competitor offerings, and emerging brand opportunities.
  • Monitor industry movements to identify potential business opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Business Development, Outbound Sales, Lead Generation, Influencer Marketing, Digital Marketing, or B2B Sales.
  • Experience working with influencer marketing agencies, digital marketing agencies, media companies, or marketing service businesses is an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience generating qualified outbound leads and booking meetings through cold outreach.
  • Hands-on experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and prospecting tools.
