About the roleThis is a Multi Faceted role combiningFuneral Concierge / Conductor,Transfer Driver and Return of Ashes Specialist responsibilities. It's ideal for someone who takes pride in helping others, provides calm and compassionate support during emotional times, and is equally comfortable caring for families at services and assisting behind the scenes with the respectful transfer of their loved one.
Key responsibilitiesFuneral Concierge duties:
- Attend funeral and memorial services as an on-site support for families and celebrants.
- Greet guests, manage event setup, and ensure each ceremony runs smoothly.
- Set up flowers, tables, and orders of service.
- Operate music, slideshows, and AV equipment as required.
- Liaise with celebrants, venue staff and families to deliver a calm, seamless experience.
- Remain composed and adaptable when last-minute changes arise.
Transfer & care duties:
- Transfer deceased persons from the place of passing to mortuary facilities (including hospitals, aged care, private homes and public settings).
- Work respectfully with healthcare staff, police, and coronial personnel.
- Communicate compassionately and professionally with families.
- Handle and transport the deceased with care, using provided tools and training (manual handling required).
- Safely navigate stairs or limited-access locations.
- Participate in an on-call roster and meet agreed response timeframes.
Care Package Delivery
- Coordinating all ashes returns to our families around the NSW area, being the key point of contact
- Arranging directly with families the best possible return of ashes experience for them
- Going above and beyond to make sure customer experience is exceptional, including being flexible and patient with any requests
- Contributing to Bare content and resources we provide customers, to ensure they are well informed, supported and empowered.
You are:
- Compassionate, composed and empathetic - you genuinely care about helping others.
- Reliable, professional and calm under pressure.
- Physically fit and capable of safe manual handling.
- Comfortable using basic technology (AV, laptops, music systems).
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Someone who approaches every task with dignity and respect.
- Full, valid driver's licence and personal transport.
- Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Working with Childrens Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Mobile phone.
- Ability to commit to a reliable roster.
- Strength and fitness to assist with manual transfers.
