Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world's most high performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
Your Role- Lead and continuously improve Systems Engineering and System Safety frameworks across the Munitions business
- Support bids and projects by applying tailored systems engineering methods to deliver safe high quality solutions
- Manage and develop a team of System Safety Engineers, overseeing workload, performance and growth
- Drive discipline uplift across engineering teams and act as a mentor and technical authority
- Collaborate with customers, partners and cross functional teams to deliver complex engineering outcomes
- Contribute to project leadership by fostering innovation, ensuring timely delivery and upholding safety and compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or equivalent) with eligibility for Chartered Engineer and NER registration
- Proven experience in similar engineering roles within design and manufacturing environments
- Capability using frameworks such as DDQS and MIL STD 882
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including first principles calculations, configuration management and understanding of quality systems
- High level interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Desirable experience in agile environments and familiarity with Defence operations
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website . In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
