Principal Oracle PL/SQL Developer

job summary:

Ability to work effectively with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and to develop and/or work with AI agents

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, applied to real financial datasets

Experience working in Linux/Unix environments with command-line proficiency

Experience delivering work in Agile/Scrum teams

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technology and business teams

Proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions, from requirements through production support

responsibilities:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle PL/SQL developer supporting production systems
• 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
• Direct experience in Capital Markets, preferably Prime Services and/or Securities Lending
• Strong command of financial data models, workflows, and industry terminology
• Advanced Oracle RDBMS expertise, including: Complex SQL queryingStored procedures, functions, triggers, and viewsObject and user privilege management
• Demonstrated ownership of performance tuning for complex SQL and PL/SQL workloads
• Proven experience designing and supporting high-volume ETL processes (e.g., SQL*Loader or equivalent)
• Strong experience with database modeling and schema design

qualifications:

Clear, direct communication skills with both engineers and business stakeholders

Working knowledge of Core Java and/or Python

Experience with enterprise job schedulers (e.g., Control-M)

AWS cloud exposure, particularly supporting database or data-platform workloads

Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in complex, data-intensive domains
