The selected candidate must work onsite 3 days per week at the VDOT office located at 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior .NET Web Application Developer with 10+ years of professional experience developing enterprise web applications.

The successful candidate will design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain high-quality applications using the .NET Core/.NET ecosystem, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, JavaScript, and modern front-end technologies. The developer will work closely with business and systems analysts, project teams, and other technical stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in full-stack web application development, software design patterns, automated testing, Agile methodologies, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience in .NET Web Application Development.
Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core/.NET.
Strong experience with ASP.NET MVC and Web API.
Strong JavaScript development experience.
Hands-on experience with one or more modern JavaScript/UI frameworks, including:
Angular / AngularJS
React
Blazor
jQuery
Strong knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
Experience developing enterprise web applications and backend services.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
Experience with tiered/multi-layer application architecture.
Experience writing unit and integration tests.
Experience participating in Agile SDLC methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on large-scale government or enterprise applications.
Experience modernizing legacy .NET applications.
Experience with RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecture.
Experience with modern front-end development and responsive web applications.
