Tech Lead - Platform Engineering<br />£100,000-£115,000 + Bonus<br />Cambridge 2-3 Days Per Week<br />No Sponsorship Option We’re hiring a Staff / Principal Platform Engineer to provide deep technical leadership across a modern cloud-native platform within a scaling SaaS / fintech environment.

This is a highly hands-on senior engineering role focused on platform architecture, Kubernetes, GitOps, cloud security, reliability and engineering standards. While not a people-management position, the role carries significant technical influence across platform direction, architecture and operational maturity.

You’ll work closely with senior engineering leadership to evolve and harden a production-grade AWS platform supporting secure, scalable and repeatable customer environments.

Key responsibilities:<br />• Driving technical direction across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS and GitOps infrastructure<br />• Reviewing and improving platform architecture, resiliency and operational readiness<br />• Defining engineering standards across infrastructure, CI/CD, observability and security<br />• Leading best practices around Terraform, Argo CD, deployment automation and platform operations<br />• Supporting secure multi-environment and SaaS deployment models<br />• Improving platform reliability, monitoring, disaster recovery and production hardening<br />• Mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews and technical guidance Tech stack includes:<br />AWS | Kubernetes / EKS | Terraform | Argo CD | GitOps | Helm | CI/CD | Observability | Cloud Security We’re looking for someone with:<br />✔ Deep AWS and Kubernetes platform engineering experience<br />✔ Strong background operating cloud-native production environments<br />✔ Expertise in infrastructure as code and GitOps practices<br />✔ Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking and resilience<br />✔ Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards<br />✔ Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions in fast-moving environments Experience within fintech, regulated SaaS, payments or financial services environments would be highly beneficial.
