We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Azure, and application-level encryption/data protection. The ideal candidate will design, develop, secure, and deploy enterprise Java applications while implementing approved encryption methodologies and modern DevSecOps practices.

The role requires hands-on experience with FIPS-compliant cryptography, AES-GCM encryption, data redaction, secure coding, CI/CD, and Kubernetes-based deployments. You will collaborate closely with architecture, security, DevOps, and platform teams to build secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and MVC architecture.
  • Build and maintain RESTful microservices using Spring Boot and modern software engineering practices.
  • Implement secure data protection capabilities, including AES-GCM encryption, encryption/decryption workflows, data masking/redaction, and FIPS-compliant cryptographic methodologies.
  • Apply secure coding principles to protect sensitive data both at rest and in transit.
  • Integrate encryption and data protection capabilities into Java services while maintaining performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Java applications, including build, unit testing, packaging, security scanning, artifact management, and deployment.
  • Implement pipeline-as-code using YAML-based configurations to ensure repeatable, version-controlled delivery processes.
  • Containerize Java microservices using Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes/AKS environments.
  • Develop and maintain Kubernetes manifests, Helm configurations, service configurations, and deployment automation.
  • Troubleshoot application, container, deployment, configuration, and runtime issues across development, testing, and production-like environments.
  • Integrate static code analysis, dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, vulnerability scanning, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote clean-code practices, meaningful commits, small pull requests, and traceability to work items.
  • Collaborate with security, architecture, DevOps, cloud, and platform teams to ensure applications meet enterprise security and reliability standards.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, dependency management, and secure software supply-chain practices.
  • Contribute to release automation, deployment governance, monitoring, and operational support.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java development in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced experience with Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
  • Strong understanding of MVC architecture, REST APIs, and microservices design patterns.
  • Proven experience implementing encryption and data protection within Java applications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AES-GCM encryption and secure cryptographic implementation patterns.
  • Understanding of FIPS standards and FIPS-compliant cryptography.
  • Experience with data redaction, masking, or protection of sensitive information.
  • Experience developing and deploying RESTful microservices.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Java applications.
  • Experience with YAML-based pipeline-as-code practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience deploying applications to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar managed Kubernetes platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, automated testing, release automation, and deployment governance.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub, including source control and pull request workflows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application and deployment issues.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes manifests, Helm, and GitOps.
  • Experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps deployment platforms.
  • Experience integrating SonarQube, JFrog/Xray, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, or vulnerability management tools into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud-native application development on Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of secure software supply-chain practices and dependency vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with enterprise encryption libraries, key-management solutions, or cryptographic service integrations.
  • Familiarity with Azure security and application protection services.
