Senior Systems Administrator | East Carondelet, IL | Hybrid | $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

This employer is a leader in technology-enabled services and mission software, supporting defense and intelligence customers with innovative solutions. They are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to manage high-performance, mission-critical systems within a classified environment. The role offers the opportunity to shape and secure vital infrastructure for intelligence and geospatial initiatives.

The Role

  • Lead system administration for Linux and Windows-based systems in secure, mission-critical environments.
  • Architect and manage complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM).
  • Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching compliant with DoD STIGs.
  • Monitor and tune system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve complex issues.
  • Oversee backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
  • Lead system enhancement and modernization initiatives.

What You'll Need

  • Active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP).
  • Experience with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS) and Windows Server administration.
  • Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, identity/access management, and storage concepts.
