Job Description

SEND Project Manager

Rate: £500–£600 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Contract: Initial 16-week contract

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week on site

We are working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced SEND Project Manager to support the delivery of a key SEND Reform programme.

Reporting to the SEND Reform Senior Transformation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation and mobilisation of a major SEND transformation initiative, working collaboratively with schools, education providers, health partners and internal Local Authority teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day delivery and mobilisation of a SEND transformation programme.
  • Coordinate implementation activity across schools, Local Authority services and partner organisations.
  • Develop and manage project plans, ensuring milestones, risks, issues and dependencies are effectively monitored and managed.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, onboarding activities and programme communications.
  • Prepare progress reports, governance papers and highlight reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain programme documentation, including action logs, risk registers and implementation trackers.
  • Collect, analyse and report programme performance data, lessons learned and evaluation outcomes.
  • Facilitate collaborative working across education, health and Local Authority partners to support successful programme delivery.
Essential Experience
  • Proven project management experience within SEND, Children's Services or Education.
  • Experience delivering transformation, change or improvement programmes within Local Government or the wider Public Sector.
  • Strong programme governance, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver complex projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight timescales.
