Senior General Ledger Accountant with German | Gdańsk, Poland | Hybrid

We are seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant with German for a leading global technology solutions provider, renowned for its extensive distribution network and innovative supply chain services. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations across the European region within a dynamic and international finance team.

The Role

• Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat, and Sales List Reporting, including submission of VAT returns and Intrastat declarations.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and complex balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax authority guidelines.
• Prepare internal reporting schedules for Europe and the US head office on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Facilitate Corporate Income Tax (CIT) reporting packages and carry out relevant Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
• Support audits, liaise with tax authorities, and assist with tax-related inquiries and projects such as e-Invoicing and European consolidation.
• Identify process inefficiencies, propose improvements, and contribute to the development of new accounting procedures.

What You'll Need

• Strong experience with VAT and CIT reporting within the EU, comprehensive accounting knowledge, and complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Very good understanding of general accounting and reporting processes, including IFRS compliance.
• Fluent English and working German (B2-C1) language skills.
• Expertise in financial analyses, managing accrued/prepaid taxes, journal entries, and statutory accounts.
• Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage high transaction volumes, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
