Senior / Lead Full Stack Engineer (Golang Focus)<br />Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Central London A fast-growing, global digital platform is seeking a Senior / Lead Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in Golang to help scale and evolve a high-traffic marketplace product operating across multiple international markets.

The Role<br />This is a hands-on full stack engineering position with a strong backend bias toward Golang, responsible for building scalable, high-performance systems that power a global user base.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising both backend services and frontend interfaces, working closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver impactful features and improvements.

Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Engineering<br />Design, build, and deploy scalable, high-quality applications across the full stack<br />Architect and develop robust backend services using Golang (Go)<br />Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices<br />Contribute to modern, responsive frontend applications using Vue.js/Nuxt.js<br />Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices Collaboration<br />Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers<br />Translate business requirements into technical solutions<br />Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standardsPerformance &amp; Scalability<br />Optimise applications for speed, scalability, and reliability<br />Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across systems<br />Ensure systems are resilient under high traffic and large-scale usageTesting &amp; Quality<br />Implement and maintain automated testing across the stack<br />Debug and resolve complex technical issues<br />Ensure high levels of system stability and user experience Continuous Improvement<br />Stay current with emerging technologies and development approaches<br />Contribute to evolving engineering processes, tooling, and practices<br />Support adoption of AI-assisted and spec-driven development workflows Key Requirements<br />Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Full Stack Engineer<br />Strong commercial experience with Golang (Go) – essential and a primary focus<br />Experience with spec-driven or agentic development approaches<br />Advanced frontend expertise with Vue.js and Nuxt.js<br />Strong JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS skills<br />Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices<br />Familiarity with gRPC for service-to-service communication<br />Solid experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases<br />Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows<br />Experience with containerisation and deployment tools<br />Strong problem-solving and communication skills<br />Ability to work both independently and collaboratively What’s on Offer<br />Opportunity to work on a high-scale, international platform<br />Exposure to modern engineering practices including AI-driven development<br />Collaborative, forward-thinking engineering environment<br />Hybrid working model with a central London office location Ideal Candidate Profile This role is best suited to an engineer who is:
