Correspondent Quality Auditor

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Correspondent Quality Auditor to support our mortgage lending operations by performing quality assurance reviews of correspondent loan files. This position plays a critical role in ensuring mortgage loans comply with company policies, investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the mortgage lending process, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve compliance-related issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-funding quality reviews of mortgage loan files to identify errors, omissions, and compliance concerns.
• Support the purchase of correspondent mortgage loans by evaluating files for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to investor, third-party, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform risk assessments to identify potential fraud, compliance violations, and operational risks.
• Investigate and resolve loan file discrepancies, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.
• Verify that all required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
• Review and interpret loan information and enter required data into compliance and audit software systems.
• Ensure compliance with TRID, investor guidelines, company policies, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Document findings, exceptions, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
• Escalate significant compliance issues and risk concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
• Recommend process improvements and efficiency enhancements to reduce errors and strengthen quality controls.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely loan reviews and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of the consumer mortgage lending process, including loan origination, underwriting, processing, funding, and closing.
• Understanding of mortgage loan documentation and various mortgage products.
• Experience with mortgage lending, mortgage loans, and mortgage closing processes.
• Familiarity with risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Intermediate math skills with strong analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with investor and third-party management requirements.
• Knowledge of TRID regulations and mortgage compliance standards.
• Experience using ComplianceEase or similar mortgage compliance software.
• Prior quality control, quality assurance, auditing, or mortgage operations experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
