Job Description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team

Join a science-driven biopharmaceutical organization focused on developing innovative therapies for patients with serious and rare diseases. This opportunity sits within a Gene Therapy Analytical Development group responsible for building reliable analytical methods that support advancing gene therapy programs through development. The environment is highly collaborative and hands-on, bringing together analytical development, quality, bioinformatics, and regulatory expertise to solve complex scientific challenges.

What's In Store For You
  • Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
  • Gain hands-on experience supporting analytical method development for gene therapy programs.
  • Work closely with experienced scientists while developing deeper expertise in molecular biology and viral vector analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across QC, Bioinformatics, and Regulatory CMC.
  • Contribute to assays that directly support the characterization and development of advanced therapeutics.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Develop, execute, and optimize viral genome titer assays using ddPCR and qPCR technologies.
  • Design and evaluate primers and probes for specificity, sensitivity, precision, and reproducibility.
  • Optimize PCR assay conditions, including cycling parameters, template concentrations, and inhibitor-related variables.
  • Perform DNA and RNA extraction, purification, quantification, and sample preparation across multiple sample types.
  • Apply restriction enzyme digestion and other molecular biology techniques to support assay development.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance issues and conduct structured investigations into inconsistent or unexpected results.
  • Analyze experimental data and maintain accurate technical reports, laboratory notebooks, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain laboratory records consistent with applicable GMP/GLP documentation practices.
  • Partner with analytical development, quality, bioinformatics, and regulatory colleagues to advance gene therapy programs.
  • Stay current with developments in ddPCR, molecular analytics, NGS, and gene therapy technologies.

Are You an Experienced Molecular Biology Research Associate Ready to Make an Impact?
  • B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related life sciences discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with qPCR and/or ddPCR, including assay setup, data interpretation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing and evaluating PCR primers and probes.
  • Strong experience with DNA and RNA purification and quantification.
  • Familiarity with restriction enzyme digestion and standard molecular biology or cloning techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, complete laboratory documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment while receiving scientific direction from senior team members.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and collaborative communication skills.
  • Direct experience with Bio-Rad QX200, QXOne, or another ddPCR platform is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to AAV or other viral vectors, analytical method development, GMP/GLP laboratories, NGS workflows, or JMP/statistical analysis is preferred.
