Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs designed to support professional growth and foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration across our local, national, and global teams.
Role accountabilities:
As a Stormwater/Stream Restoration Engineer, you will evaluate, plan, design, permit, and support the management of stream restoration, natural channel design, and watershed improvement projects. This role includes leading tasks and supporting project delivery from concept through construction, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies. You may also support professional engineering services during construction, including construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to requests for information (RFIs), and permit closeouts.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Perform, lead, and coordinate field assessments, data collection, and analysis for stream restoration projects, including geomorphic evaluations, hydraulic modeling, and watershed assessments.
- Develop and support stream restoration design plans, including grading, stabilization measures, in-stream structures, and riparian enhancements.
- Prepare and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and support floodplain and channel stability analyses.
- Lead task-level project delivery, including developing scopes of work, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating internal teams and subconsultants.
- Support and contribute to preparing proposals and building strong client relationships.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, support permitting efforts, and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Support preparation of reports, design documents, presentations, and other deliverables, and actively participate in client meetings and stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards, and facilitate timely and on-budget project delivery.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technical staff.
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with flexibility to engage with team members across regions.
- Travel may be required for field work, site assessments, client meetings, and construction site visits.
Qualifications & Experience:

They will demonstrate project leadership capabilities, including managing scopes, budgets, and schedules, as well as coordinating multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.
