Job Description

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking a Research Security SME / Product Manager with a unique combination of research security or compliance domain expertise and strong product/functional analysis experience.
  • The ideal candidate will understand complex research security workflows and be able to translate business and compliance requirements into software functionality, user stories, workflows, and actionable requirements for development teams.
  • This is a specialized role, candidates should have direct experience in Research Security, Research Compliance, or Trusted Research and a proven background as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar functional/product role.

 

Required Domain Experience:

Candidates must have hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Research Security
  • Research Compliance
  • Trusted Research

Experience should include an understanding of research security and compliance workflows such as:

  • Foreign researcher screening
  • Research funding reviews
  • Gift reviews
  • International partnership reviews
  • Research security case management
  • Research compliance and security assessment workflows

Product & Functional Experience

Candidates must also demonstrate strong experience translating business needs into software solutions, including:

  • Gathering and documenting functional and business requirements
  • Creating user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Managing feature backlogs
  • Designing and documenting workflows and business processes
  • Planning and executing UAT
  • Participating in prototype and design reviews
  • Supporting release validation and sign-off
  • Translating complex business requirements into software functionality
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, and software/engineering teams

 

Preferred Knowledge:

Experience or familiarity with research security standards and guidelines is highly preferred, including:

  • NSPM-33
  • NIST
  • UFIT
  • UK Trusted Research Guidelines
