Quality Engineer

Location: Kettering Northamptonshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to join a well-established manufacturing business? This is a hands-on role where you'll support production quality, drive continuous improvement and ensure products meet the highest standards.

The Role

Working closely with Production and Engineering, you will:

• Support quality activities from incoming inspection through to final product release.
• Inspect fabricated and welded components against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Raise and manage non-conformances, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, inspection plans and quality documentation.
• Monitor quality KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Supervise and develop a small team of Quality Inspectors.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and internal/external audits.

About You

You'll have:

• Experience in a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Technician role within manufacturing.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding and mechanical assembly.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and carrying out visual weld inspections.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge quality issues.

Desirable:

• CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector qualification (or equivalent).
• Internal Auditor qualification.
• Experience within heavy engineering, access equipment, lifting equipment or similar industries.
