Salary of $162,528 with additional career development opportunities and 17% superannuation

The opportunity

The Solution Architect leads the development of user-centric solution architectures. They analyse and implement detailed solution architectures for projects. This position will also assess vendor options and negotiate procurement.

What you'll do

• Lead the design of innovative, user-centred solution architectures that align with the University's ICT strategy, enterprise architecture principles, and long-term technology roadmap.
• Partner with business and ICT leaders to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and sustainable technology solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Provide architectural leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects , ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, aligned to strategic roadmaps, and support a cohesive technology landscape.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology vendors to evaluate solution options, provide expert technical guidance, and influence procurement decisions that deliver best value for the University.
• Champion best practice in architecture, security and data management , identifying opportunities to improve digital capability while ensuring compliance with University standards and governance.
• Mentor and inspire technical teams , fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while contributing to the delivery of world-class digital services for staff and students.

What we're looking for

• Postgraduate qualifications, in a relevant field or a related discipline , or an equivalent combination of relevant training and demonstrated experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams , including staff performance management, coaching, mentoring and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect within a complex enterprise environment, with the ability to design and deliver scalable, secure and user-centred technology solutions.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks and architectural governance to support strategic technology decision-making.
• Broad technical expertise across application, integration, data and infrastructure technologies , with the ability to translate business requirements into effective end-to-end solutions.
• Experience in architecture planning, roadmapping and implementation , ensuring technology solutions align with organisational strategy, business objectives and enterprise standards.
• Experience working within the higher education sector or a similarly large, complex organisation , with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with delivering enterprise technology services.
