ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking 5 Senior Golang Developers to support a large-scale Go package migration and centralized library engineering initiative for a premier global technology client. This engagement is focused on auditing existing Go packages across enterprise codebases, identifying reusable and redundant components, upgrading legacy packages to target versions, and building a centralized, standardized Go package ecosystem. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in Go module management, dependency upgrades, and building shared internal libraries at scale. Candidates with prior Go package migration experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Audit and analyse existing Go packages and modules across enterprise codebases to identify current versions, deprecated dependencies, and upgrade candidates
• Identify reusable packages and consolidate redundant or duplicated logic into centralized, standardized shared libraries
• Design and develop centralized Go packages that can be consumed across multiple teams and services - establishing standard patterns, interfaces, and documentation
• Execute end-to-end package migration from legacy Go versions to target versions - including breaking change analysis, compatibility assessment, and version alignment
• Build and maintain Go modules using Go Modules (go.mod / go.sum) with proper semantic versioning (SemVer) practices
• Identify ideal target versions for each package and build migration paths with minimal disruption to dependent services
• Conduct dependency graph analysis to understand transitive dependencies, circular imports, and version conflicts before and after migration
• Refactor and modernize legacy Go code to align with current Go best practices including idiomatic Go patterns, improved concurrency models, and cleaner interface design
• Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and benchmarks to validate migrated packages and ensure no regression in functionality or performance
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and application engineering teams to integrate centralized packages into CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including package usage guides, migration runbooks, versioning policies, and API references
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-team engineering syncs
• Develop Python utility scripts for automation of package scanning, version reporting, and migration tracking as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8 to 10 years of overall software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in Go (Golang) - including Go standard library, concurrency primitives (goroutines, channels, select), interfaces, and idiomatic Go design patterns
• Proficiency with Go modules, dependency management, and package design including go.mod, go.sum, module proxies, and versioning strategies
• Proven hands-on experience in Go package or library migration - auditing, upgrading, refactoring, and version alignment across large codebases - this is the core requirement
• Strong experience identifying reusable components and building centralized internal libraries or SDKs for enterprise-wide consumption
• Solid understanding of semantic versioning (SemVer) and Go module compatibility rules including major version migrations (v1 v2+)
• Experience with dependency graph analysis and resolving transitive dependency conflicts in Go module ecosystems
• Proficiency with RESTful API design and gRPC service development in Go
• Strong experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab for version control and collaborative development
• Experience integrating Go packages and libraries into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build
• Strong experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Python proficiency for scripting, automation, and migration tooling - added advantage
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services including Cloud Run, GKE, GCS, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized Go service deployment using Docker
• Experience with internal developer platforms, package registries, or artifact repositories such as Artifactory, Nexus, or Google Cloud Platform Artifact Registry
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools - Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloud Monitoring
• Prior experience working in a Google, LTIMindtree, or similar large-scale technology environment is a strong advantage
• Versatility and leadership qualities with enthusiasm to take on new problems and drive initiatives from idea to production

NOTE TO CANDIDATES

This role is specifically suited for engineers who have worked on Go package migration, library consolidation, or Go module versioning projects at enterprise scale. Even if your background is not exclusively Go-native, strong experience in package migration, dependency management, and centralized library development in any strongly typed language combined with Go proficiency makes you a strong candidate.
