Job Description

Role: Datacenter Project Manager 

Location: Reno, NV

 

Key Skills: Cx Alloy, L1 - L5 Commissioning Exp, Datacenter Exp

(Overall Building-Level Commissioning Authority – L1–L3 Commissioning Support-L4-L5)

Primary Objective

Own building-level commissioning execution, schedule integrity, energization governance, and cross-discipline coordination across Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls systems.

 A. Strategic Oversight

  • Accountable for L1–L3 completion within assigned building/vault
  • Responsible to Coordinate Vendor and Subcontractor Support for L3-L5
  • Protect energization sequencing and start up strategy.
  • Align commissioning activities with:
    • Micro-schedule
    • Construction progress
    • Customer milestones
    • Control Activities
  • Ensure compliance with Switch commissioning governance model.

 B. Gate Authority (L3 / Energization)

  • Confirm all three pillars before authorizing L3:
    • QA/QC documentation readiness
    • Site physical readiness
    • Cx procedural readiness
    • Dead buss checks on applicable equipment to prevent future power drops
  • Resolve disputes between Site / QAQC / Cx.
  • Escalate systemic risks impacting:
    • MVTX / MCS lineups
    • CHW loop energization
    • Generator / ATS startup
    • SCADA network stability/ Network live completion

 C. Leadership of Direct Reports

  • Direct oversight of:
    • CxAlloy Manager (documentation & gate compliance)
    • Cx Coordinator (field execution & startup)
  • Validate alignment between system readiness and field execution.
  • Drive accountability across trades and vendors.

 D. Issue Governance & Risk Management

  • Review and resolve conflict over issue severity classifications.
  • Set closure thresholds: set timetables below to hold accountability, ensure procurement delays are tracked and coordinated for issues closure.
    • High → Must close before energization 72hrs
    • Moderate → Mitigation plan required 48hrs
    • Low → Track to turnover 24hrs
  • Identify trend failures (repeat deficiencies, documentation gaps, vendor underperformance).
