Job Description

AWS Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Location: 60% onsite (3 days onsite from Washington DC)

Security Clearance: [USC/Dual Citizens- Public Trust-- Required]

Role Description:

In this role, you will work on a team responsible for:

  1. Maintaining an existing, production AWS cloud architecture supporting three applications
  2. Moving this existing AWS cloud architecture into a new common services architecture
  3. Building an additional AWS cloud architecture in a designated, high-security boundary
  4. Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and AWS development services

You will need to coordinate closely with your team and application team to ensure existing and new systems are properly supported/deployed. You will be responsible for hardening and patching servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server. Deployments will use infrastructure-as-code (IaC) written in either Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and AWS development services
  • You will need to coordinate closely with your team and application team to ensure existing and new systems are properly supported/deployed.
  • You will be responsible for hardening and patching servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server.

Required Qualifications:

  1. At least 2-3 years of experience deploying in and maintaining cloud environments.
  2. At least 1 year of experience with AWS
  3. At least 1 year of experience managing a team
  4. AWS Solutions Architect Associate
  5. Local to Washington DC Metro Area (Ft. Belvoir)

Required Knowledge:

Comprehensive knowledge of:

  1. AWS
  2. Linux operating systems
  3. Networking

Thorough knowledge of:

  1. Windows operating systems
  2. Either Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible

General knowledge of:

  1. Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  2. Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  3. ITIL service management

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community
  2. Possession of a DOD 8140 baseline certification, i.e., CompTIA Security+
  3. Understanding of DoD PPSM Processes and Network Boundaries
