Senior QA Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ – LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in API automation using the Karate framework. Strong hands-on Karate experience is a mandatory requirement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, API automation, test framework development, CI/CD, SQL, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Java and Karate framework.

• Perform API automation testing for RESTful services.

• Validate JSON/XML request and response payloads.

• Work with various API authentication mechanisms.

• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using POM, Hybrid, and BDD approaches.

• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

• Develop and maintain build configurations using Maven/Gradle.

• Manage source code and automation projects using Git.

• Perform backend validation using SQL queries.

• Analyze test failures, perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot automation issues.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and business teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance on automation best practices.

• Participate in test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

• Strong hands-on experience with Karate framework – MUST HAVE.

• Strong hands-on experience in API automation testing.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs.

• Experience validating JSON/XML request and response payloads.

• Strong knowledge of API authentication mechanisms.

• Experience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.

• Knowledge of POM, Hybrid, and BDD frameworks.

• Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

• Experience with Maven/Gradle.

• Strong knowledge of Git and version control.

• Good knowledge of SQL for backend/database validation.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.

• Ability to mentor and guide junior QA engineers.
